How to Hide Pricing & ‘Add to Cart’ in WooCommerce without Need to Code

Listen to this article

WooCommerce, like any other platform, has its own share of shortcomings!

Especially if you’re running a wholesale store, membership store, or a catalog site – functions like Hiding ‘Pricing’ and ‘Add to Cart’ options from visitors works as a great strategy.

But, unfortunately, WooCommerce doesn’t come with built-in functionality to let you do so.

However, there’s no need to worry 🙂

Thanks to its huge library of plugins, these functions can be easily added in an instant. Plus, you don’t have to go through the pain of writing codes or hire a developer to get it done.

And, in this article, I’ll show you how to exactly hide ‘Pricing’ and ‘Add to Cart’ options from your visitors, guest users, non-logged-in users, and some other scenarios using certain plugins!

But, before we deep dive into it, please bear with me as I quickly cover different instances that may demand hiding pricing options.

The need to hide Pricing or Add to Cart options

There are lots of scenarios that may require you to hide Pricing or Add to Cart options from your customers. In fact, many online stores use it as a strategy to increase their sales and sign-ups.

Now, Let’s take a look at some of these scenarios:

  • Wholesale stores – If you’re running a WooCommerce Wholesale Store, you’re probably offering special pricing to wholesale customers and would want to hide the same from your retail customers. In doing so, you’ll be able to sell more quantities in bulk.
  • Membership Stores – When you’re creating a members-only store, it makes sense to display the Pricing of your products to your members only. You can enable your guest users to view the product but ask them to sign up if they wish to purchase it. This is a great strategy to increase your store memberships.
  • Catalog Mode – You can hide the Pricing and Add to Cart option on your site and create a simple browsable product catalog. And, this can be really useful when you don’t want to sell products through your site. Moreover, you can also switch to catalog mode when your site is under maintenance. This helps in avoiding leaving a bad impression on your visitors.
  • Other scenarios – Sometimes, you could hide pricing for certain products deliberately and use it as a strategy to collect Inquiries about that particular product. And, based on the Inquiries, you can also design your marketing activities accordingly.

Having said that, these aren’t the only use cases. You could have several other reasons or scenarios of your own that may require hiding Pricing & Add to Cart options.

With that being said, let’s now move on to the next segment…..

How to Hide Pricing & Add to Cart options in your WooStore

As I mentioned earlier, WooCommerce has a library of plugins. And, to accommodate the above use cases, you’ll have to use certain plugins depending on the functions you wish to add.

Now, let’s take a look at some of the plugins that you can use to enable these functions:

1. WISDM Product Enquiry Pro

WISDM PEP

This is a plugin that enables you to easily hide ‘Pricing’ and ‘Add to Cart’ options for your products. And, the best part – you don’t have to be a coder or hire a developer to configure the settings.

Instead, it allows you to capture pre-sale inquiries and genuine leads by replacing the Pricing or Add to Cart buttons with the ‘Inquiry Form’ and ‘Request a Quote’ option.

It is only natural for your visitors to have several questions regarding your products. And, having Inquiry forms makes it possible for them to directly ask different questions pertaining to color, quantity, size, variations, etc.

Plus, it gives you an opportunity to understand the concerns of your potential customers thereby, leading to quicker conversions.

In addition, including the ‘Request a Quote’ option on your products page also opens up room for negotiation. Allowing your potential customers to ask for a pricing quotation and negotiating the same back and forth can lead to bulk purchases and large ticket size orders. This is useful in closing Wholesale buyers.

Besides this, the plugin also offers tons of other advanced features to enhance and add value to your WooStore.

Hiding Pricing & Add to Cart buttons

Once you’ve downloaded the plugin, you can start creating your custom Inquiry forms and Quotations. To know more, you can check out this detailed step-by-step guide that’ll help you set up and enable your own Inquiry forms and pricing Quotations.

Now, to hide Pricing and Add to Cart buttons, follow the below steps:

  • WordPress Dashboard > WISDM Product Enquiry Pro
  • Click on Settings > Hit the General Tab

Hide pricing

As you can see in the image above, these options will allow you to Hide Pricing & Add to Cart button from your products page. You can replace those options with Enquiry or Quotations requests.

And, depending on your strategy, you can choose to display the Inquiry or Request a Quote option to Logged in users only, all users, or display the options only when the product runs ‘out of stock’.

Now, when you scroll down further, you’ll find options to enable Multiproduct Inquiry & Quotation Requests.

It also gives you options to disable the price column in the Enquiry email and Enquiry cart. In doing so, you’ll be able to force them to use the Request a Quote option thereby, negotiating a better deal.

2. WISDM Product Catalog Manager

product-catalog-managerIf you’re someone who wants to increase sign-ups on your WooStore, then this plugin works wonders in helping you achieve that goal. With this plugin, you can easily convert your WooStore into catalog mode or display only browsable product catalogs to your guest users.

You have complete freedom to hide the Pricing and Add to Cart options for all your products. In doing so, you can make your store seem exclusive to your registered users only. And, this will force your guest users to register in order to view the prices or buy the product.

Plus, the plugin comes in handy when you want to carry out your site maintenance. You can quickly switch to catalog mode and avoid leaving a bad impression on your visitors.

Moreover, it also gives you an opportunity to create a members-only store. The best part – WISDM Product Catalog Manager is available for Free!

And, once you download the plugin, you can configure the settings by heading to:

  • WordPress Dashboard > WISDM Product Catalog Manager

PCM Hide price

You have the option to hide both the Product Price and Add to Cart buttons for your guest users or only the Add to Cart option. Depending on your plans, you make either of the choices.

Interestingly, you can even show a placeholder to direct your guest users to take any action when the price or add to cart option is hidden. This action can include a link to the My Account page or a link to the custom page that you’ve created for the guest users.

To gauge the plugin’s benefits and features, you can download the WISDM Product Catalog Manager plugin for Free!

Final Thoughts,

Both of these plugins give you a greater degree of control over hiding the Pricing or Add to Cart buttons.

I’d recommend you to pick the WISDM Product Enquiry Pro plugin if you want to run a wholesale store. Adding the Inquiry & Request a Quote option gives you a great opportunity to increase bulk purchases.

And, if you wish to convert your WooStore into a members-only store then the WISDM Product Catalog Manager plugin can help in increasing store sign-ups quickly.
