From Idea to Launch: WordPress Site Setup for a High-Performance Store (Pet Supplement Brand)

Most agencies he spoke to said the same thing: a store this fast couldn't also run subscriptions, two checkout flows, and his full brand without slowing to a crawl. Pick one, they said. Matt didn't. Forty-four hours later, his store was live with all of it, and still loading light.

The Client

It started with a finished brand and one unfinished question.

Paws & Whiskers, a USA pet supplement brand.

Vet-approved dog supplements, salmon oil, joint chews, calming and skin-and-coat support, made to help dogs feel and move better. The brand started with Matt's own German Shepherd, Hans, whose health struggles led to formulas built with a vet. By the time it reached us, the branding was all in place. What Matt needed was a store that could carry it, without slowing down.

We focused on building a clean, lightweight WooCommerce setup with the right structure for subscriptions and future growth. The client was happy with how everything came together and the foundation it created for the business.

The Challenge

So we asked the question everyone avoids: why not both?

A store usually makes you pick, fast or full-featured. Matt wanted both.

The usual fix is to keep bolting on plugins until the store can do everything, and crawls doing it. Matt had watched other WooCommerce stores go down that road, and he didn’t want his ending up the same way.

What he insisted on

He’d seen too many WooCommerce stores turn slow and clunky as features stacked up. The question for him was never whether the store could do everything. It was whether it could do everything and stay fast.
