The Challenge
Beyond The Brand Media, a fast-growing eCommerce business, wanted to enhance its operational efficiency by developing an advanced abandoned cart functionality for its WooCommerce stores — a feature critical to improving conversions and customer experience.
In essence, the challenge was to design a robust, real-time abandoned cart recovery system that improved efficiency, reduced cart losses, and elevated the overall customer experience.
We based our solution on three core principles — minimal time spent, minimal expenditure, and maximum output — the foundation of what we call The WISDM Approach. This methodology ensures every project we deliver strikes the right balance between efficiency, scalability, and measurable results.

Dedicated Cart Table: Built a system to store cart information and session data in a custom database table whenever users updated their WooCommerce carts.
Guest & Logged-in Support: Enabled both guest and registered users to have their carts saved and restored seamlessly.
AJAX-Based Updates: Integrated real-time updates to fetch user details dynamically, ensuring a responsive experience across all user states.

Cart Management Interface: Created a custom backend page for administrators to view and manage all saved carts.
Manual Control Options: Added the ability to delete or restore carts directly from the admin panel.
Data Retention Settings: Provided an adjustable option to define how long cart data should be stored, including supporting API endpoints to modify this value.
