When a product is added to the enquiry cart, a cookie is added to the user’s site and a database session is created on the server side for the user. When a user visits the enquiry cart page, PEP retrieves the products data from the database session created for that user.
There may be a few issues such as when a user adds a particular product to the enquiry cart and visits the enquiry cart page, the enquiry cart is empty or enquiry cart shows the wrong products. The another issue can be when a user adds a product to the enquiry cart, enquiry cart icon is updated but as a user reloads the page, enquiry cart icon is not shown or enquiry cart shows the wrong number of products.
These issues can be due to the caching system on the site. PEP provides a way to fix these issues. Usually, most of the caching plugins provide a functionality of whitelisting the cookie. To fix these issues, one needs to whitelist the PEP cookie ‘quoteup_wp_session’ in the setting provided by the caching plugin. If one has hosted the site on WP Engine and is not using any caching plugin, one must ask WP Engine support to whitelist the cookie ‘quoteup_wp_session’.
