The client needed a new section in the back-end for processing repair orders for watches. As the products are toward the higher value end of the spectrum, the client offered post-sales services, such as repair work. Repair could be anything from getting a strap replaced, to changing the batteries.
In addition, the client also required a usable functionality at the back-end, which could be easily handled by the staff to add the order information. It was also to generate Repair Orders and Invoices for the customers, to keep track of the exact details of the item to be repaired/replaced. The third requirement was to be able to link the repair order with the original purchase order, in case the product had been purchased from the same store.
The intention behind creating such a section at the website back-end was to eliminate the work and time spent in manually recording every detail of the repair order and finding the purchase orders from the store archives. The customization was expected to make life easier for the employees. Linking it to the original purchase receipt would make accessing all product history quick and painless.
We provided the capability to link the repair order to the original product purchase order for ready reference. A functionality to add specific line items was included to list every repair and hence make the Invoicing process smooth and transparent.
